St Johns Wort {Hypericum} Salve, 2oz

Every year my topical St Johns Wort (Hypericum perforatum, Goldenwort) offerings sell out almost immediately, and for good reason!

Created using fresh, wildcrafted St. John’s Wort, gathered on the Summer Solstice 🤍 fresh SJW flowers & buds produce a deep purple/red substance that contains the Hypericin, one of its most highly medicinal constituents. You know that you have found Hypericum in His prime when your fingers are stained a deep purple after processing.

This is one of the most gorgeous oils when infused—a deep, blood red. It has a strong smell that you might come to love & crave (as I do) when you work with and feel the deep effects of this plant.

Here are some of the ways that I like to use the salve:

🧿ENERGETIC PROPERTIES🧿

❤️‍🔥applying to the temples, back of the neck, wrists, or chest as a protection ally. I tend to work with the salve in this way before teaching yoga, speaking publicly, in medicine ceremonies, or if I am feeling sensitive and vulnerable but need to be around others (I use this on my daughter, too!) You can also massage into the soles of the feet

❤️‍🔥applying to the belly when intentionally working with the solar plexus chakra—the seat of our inner fire/agni/yang/masculine solar energy—to bring awareness, soothing, protection, and strength. Use with intention!

❤️‍🔥applying to womb if experiencing cramps—SJW has a warming action, helpful for pain and gently moving blood

🩸PHYSICAL PROPERTIES🩸

❤️‍🔥SJW when used topically is extremely soothing to inflamed nerves. Apply to areas of pain/tension and feel it melt away (think sciatica, neuralgia, carpal tunnel, muscle injury)

❤️‍🔥helpful for speeding up healing of bruises, scrapes, bites, burns, any skin irritations

❤️‍🔥may be worked with for viral infections of the skin like cold sores/herpes virus due to its antiviral virtues
